CAFCL: Who joins Al Ahly, Morocco’s AS FAR in Quarters

The group-stages of the 2024/25 CAF Inter-Club competition, Total Energies CAF Champions League (CAFCL) come to climax over the weekend with matchday six.

Six teams already confirmed their foot in the quarter-finals, leaving two spots to complete the knockouts puzzle.

Al Hilal SC of Sudan were the first side to reach the last eight after matchday four before 5 more teams followed suit last week.

These include Pyramids FC (Egypt), AS FAR (Morocco), Orlando Pirates (South Africa), Esperance (Tunisia) and record Champions, Al Ahly of Egypt.

The remaining slots will be determined in groups A and B going into the final day.

From group A, all eyes will be in Dar es salaam to see who joins leaders and Sudanese giants Al Hilal SC.

Young Africans on 7 points host MC Alger (8 points) in a game they must emerge victorious to advance to the next round.

Elsewhere, in group B 2016 winners, Mamelodi Sundowns (8 points) need to avoid defeat against Morocco’s AS FAR (9 points) due to potential pressure from 3rd placed Raja Casablanca who sit on 5 points.
