Bul FC hop past hapless Express to log full points

Action in the Startimes Uganda Premier League continued to unfold on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, with three matches on the menu.

In final game of the day played under the floodlights, BuL FC registered a 2-0 victory over Express FC in their own park yard.

First half goals from Pascal Ngobi, and Emmanuel Wasswa helped the visitors from Jinja to return to winning ways at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

This was their second win at the same venue this season, the first coming against the tax collectors of URA FC.

A quick start from BuL saw captain Emmanuel Wasswa connect the ball into his own net in the 13th minute.

In the 22nd minute, new recruit at Express Mohammad Ssenonga had a chance to level the matters before putting the ball straight into the keeper’s hands.

Youngster Richard Okello, and Aprem also came close to doubling the lead for the Eastern giants on separate junctures.

Five minutes to the break, Pascal Ngobi made it 2-0 following a beautiful interplay between Okello and Hillary Onek on the right wing.

The closing half didn’t yield any further goals from both sides, setting for a 2-0 margin on the night.

Elsewhere, hosts and debutants Lugazi FC beat Police FC 1-0 to commence the second round on a bright note. Abdul Kalanzi netted the all important goal for the leaders in Najjembe.

In Luzira, Maroons drew 1-1 against relegation threatened Soltilo Bright Stars. Simon Tamale own goal cancelled out Felix Okot initial effort from a free kick.
