On the professional football front, current Super Eagles players such as Victor Boniface, Frank Onyeka, and Tolu Arokodare also made appearances, lacing up their boots to support their national teammates.

The players were split into Team Eguavoen and Team Ijabal, allowing for a fun and competitive match that brought plenty of flair, laughter, and memorable moments.

One of the most talked-about moments came courtesy of comedian Broda Shaggi, who playfully fouled Victor Boniface, conceding a free kick. As the referee blew the whistle, Shaggi theatrically knelt down to plead his case, only to be shown a yellow card.

Not done, he sneaked up to Boniface who was lying on the turf and pretended to choke him, much to the amusement of the crowd. Boniface, who is known for his playful nature on social media, took the joke in stride, laughing off the moment.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward went on to score a penalty, further entertaining fans with his flair and connection to the crowd.

While the match was filled with fun and entertainment, the heart of the event was charity. Troost-Ekong’s foundation focuses on giving back to underprivileged communities in Nigeria, especially through youth empowerment and sports development.

“This is beyond football. It’s about giving back, about uniting people, and making a difference,” Troost-Ekong said at the event.

Fans in attendance were thrilled by the opportunity to see their favourite celebrities and footballers interacting in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. The event is expected to raise significant funds for various grassroots development projects championed by the Super Eagles star.
