Boniface misses Leverkusen training ahead Union Berlin clash

Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface was absent from the team’s training session on Tuesday due to illness, according to Werkself Xtra.

However, the Nigerian international is reportedly expected to recover in time for their Bundesliga matchday [Insert Matchday Number if known] clash against Union Berlin on Saturday.

Boniface, 24, started for Die Werkself in their away victory against Heidenheim last weekend.

He has been a key player for Xabi Alonso’s side this season, despite battling with injuries that have limited his appearances.

The forward has scored eight goals in 17 league outings for Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen, currently second in the Bundesliga table and six points behind leaders Bayern Munich, will be hoping Boniface makes a swift recovery as they prepare to host Union Berlin at the Bay Arena on Saturday.
