Uganda U-17 national team, Cubs, thrashed rivals and neighbors Tanzania 3-0 in round two at the ongoing Total Energies CAF U-17 AFCON in Morocco.
This was a perfect response from the East African giants who had suffered a 5-0 defeat against Morocco in the opening match at El Bachir Stadium.
Masaka Sunshine lethal Forward, James Bogere starred in the emphatic victory, as he went on to be named player of the match for his involvement in all the three goals.
The CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers golden boot winner addressed the meda in the aftermath of the showdown, stating the major reason why he was ruthless against the Serengeti Boys of Tanzania.
“As a person, I was driven because in the first game I was needed but in the game I wasn’t anywhere to be seen. Xo today before coming to the game, I sat down and said I have to help my country because we are fighting for the nation, so I came well prepared & i did what is supposed to be done.” Bogere revealed
He also highlighted on the difference for Thursday’s splendid performance, varying from what the supporters at home had seen in the opener against 2023 finalists.
“Just like we were organized and we lost the first game and we came to this game well prepared and the coaches gave us what we were supposed to follow and am happy that all my teammates did what they were told to do and the game was easy and we won.” he concluded
