Abeokuta will be the battleground for Group [Insert Group Letter/Number if known from NLO structure, otherwise omit] of the Nationwide League One (NLO) as the much-anticipated groupings have been released, placing Best Talent Football Club of Mowe alongside ten other teams at the Sagamu Centre.
After narrowly missing out on group qualification last season, the “Integrity side” from Mowe are reported to be in top form and determined to secure promotion in the upcoming campaign, which kicks off on April 11th. Coach Farouk Yusuf will lead his Best Talent FC against a competitive group including Star Builders, H2U FC, Custom FC, Otassolo, Lasegski, Raymond, Dino Sporting, Juvenile, Life Christ Outreach, and Stormer SC.
The NLO league format dictates that the winner of each group will proceed to one of eight centers (four in the North and four in the South), each hosting a round-robin tournament among four clubs. The ultimate winner of each of these eight mini-tournaments will then earn promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Speaking after the group announcements, Best Talent FC’s General Manager, Mr. Sikiru Ibrahim (SK), expressed strong optimism about his team’s chances. “It’s obvious that all the teams in our group are very strong but Best Talent FC are ready to face them all. Our primary objective is to snatch the sole ticket and secure promotion to the Nigeria National League, NNL, God’s willing. Amen,” he stated.
Head Coach Farouk Yusuf echoed the GM’s confidence, emphasizing the team’s rigorous preparations. “We are already gearing up for this season as we look forward to the commencement of the league. We have been working round the clock to fulfill the yearnings and aspirations of our teeming fans. They felt disappointed last season and we can’t afford to let them down this time,” Yusuf said. He further assured, “We are confident that our players are ready to give their optimum best and make a strong impression in the upcoming season.”
With the league set to begin in a few days, Best Talent FC and their fans will be eagerly anticipating a successful campaign in Abeokuta.
