In a rare moment, Khalid Aucho was on target over the weekend as Young Africans thrashed Mashujaa FC 5-0 at Lake Tanganyika Stadium
Known for assisting, his goal didn’t only surprise the fans in attendance but also his team-mates at the club.
Speaking after the match, Aucho revealed that on several occasions his team-mates always ask him why he doesn’t score.
โThe Whole team is happy because they always tell me you need to score and you know am always there but I don’t score because I like giving
โEvery time I get opportunity, I like giving & they know that amn’t someone who likes to score, am always someone who likes to give my teammates to score but eventually I scored today & they are happy for me and whole team is happy.โ
The experienced midfielder further disclosed that even the boss knows he isn’t good in scoring but he creates for others.
โIt important because it’s my first goal but always I tell engineer the boss that me amn’t good in scoring, don’t like scoring, I like giving, assisting and helping the team.โ
The other goals for the defending champions came from Duke Abuya, Prince Dube and Zambian Clatous Chama bagged a brace off the bench.
The victory saw Young Africans consolidate their position at the top, 5 points (55) ahead of Simba SC who have played two games less.
