Another Ugandan International seals a move to India

The Crested Cranes International joins the long list of Ugandans plying their trade in the Asian country

Ugandan Sharon Namatovu has secured a move to the Indian Women’s League (IWL), Naira Sports can confirm.

Gokulam Kerala FC will be the new home of the lethal forward who starts a fresh chapter in her football career.

She joins the Malabarians from Finance Trust Women Super League side, Makerere University WFC.

At Kerala, the 2024 Golden Boot winner re-unites with compatriot Fazila Ikwaput, current top-scorer of the Indian top-flight division.

Her addition is expected to steer the club towards their dream of winning the championship for a fourth record time.

As per now, Kerala are second on the standings, 14 points accumulated, one adrift of leaders East Bengal FC. The Malabarians play Nita FC next, with league action back on the display.

Sharon Namatovu will be the 6th Ugandan to feature in the Indian Women’s League after Aminah Nababi, Hadijah Nandago, Resty Nanziri, Joanita Ainembabazi, and Fazila Ikwaput.
