Ambitious NEC dare ‘small team’ Kitara in Lugogo

NEC FC and Kitara FC collide in a highly anticipated Uganda Premier League matchday 23 tie this Thursday under the lights at MTN Omondi Stadium.

NEC currently in the race to lift the Championship will be on guard not to squander another opportunity in their quest to keep pressure on leaders, Vipers SC.

The diehards faltered in last week’s clash against UPDF, sharing spoils with the soldiers boys in a goalless draw witnessed in Bombo, leaving them trailing by four points behind the venoms.

Kitara FC will go into this contest in much higher spirits following that dominant 4-0 victory in their previous outing against landlords KCCA FC at Royals Park-Butema.

The Royals under the guidance of Wasswa Bbosa have looked a different side, restoring pride among it’s vocal faithful and also elevating in terms of positions on the table.

Seeking to avenge for the 2-1 loss suffered in the reverse fixture, Kitara’s camp has been boosted by the return of striker George Ssenkaaba to the squad gearing up for the showdown in Lugogo.

NEC, on the otherhand, will be out trio Kelvin Barni (injury), Kimwero Shamir (injury), Jarieko James (Suspended) while defender Jacob Okao is back in the roster after serving his one match suspension.

In the early kick-offs, SC Villa welcome relegation threatened Mbale Heroes in Wankulukuku while Mbarara City lock horns with new looking Police at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
