The Uganda Cranes match winner was bouyed by the experience to play and start alongside the France based athlete on Tuesday evening.

Allan okello was the hero that struck the lone goal that propelled Uganda past visitors Guinea on day six of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

With Paul Put having made changes, the Vipers playmaker Okello reacted to the involvement of both him and Travis Mutyaba in the aftermath of the showdown at Namboole.

“Travis is wonderful player, good on the ball. As a player I know and everyone believes in me because I like to play, so when I have a fellow player who can play and we go on, so it was really nice to be on the same ground with him.” Okello said

The expirement of having the duo on the same battlefield, was earlier a request from most football revellers in the country and this came to pass as Uganda picked their maiden win against Guinea in global Qualifiers.

Further more, the left footed gem hinted on how badly they needed this victory, with Belgian tactician already on their neck to put a better display than the one witnessed in Cairo.

“We fought so hard hard today, you could see everyone. We wanted to win this, atleast we wanted to be into this run, we get some hopes. If we didn’t win today, we weren’t going to be having any hopes at all.”
