After twenty two rounds, the Ugandan International finally got off the mark in the Ethiopian Premier League on Tuesday evening.
Allan Kayiwa played a part as leaders Ethiopian Insurance recorded a 2-1 huge victory against reigning champions, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.
Handed a second consecutive start by coach Gebremedhin Haile, the former Express attacker seized the opportunity, scoring his first goal of the campaign.
Kayiwa, opened the scoring at A.S.T.U. Stadium after a defensive blunder by CBE’s Fetudin Jemal in the ninth minute.
In the 36th minute, the visitors levelled the scoreline through Kitika Jima before Abubeker Sani winner, two minutes on return for the final stanza.
The strike brings vibrancy to Kayiwa, with the league heading into a break due to the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers later this month.
Ethiopian Insurance are top of the standings in the neighbors country on 41 points, eight clear of second-placed Bahirdar Ketema.
