Alhaji Majekodunmi harps on unpredictable expectation as Ogun FA Cup gets underway

The Chairman Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi has reminded participating teams in the 2025 Ogun State FA Cup of the competition’s unpredictable nature as the tournament gets underway on Wednesday.

With three games on the menu at the Dipo Dina stadium, Ijebu Ode, the Ogun FA Chairman who is also an Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), admonished participating teams to be at their best.

“The FA Cup is known for its surprises, and this year’s edition will be no exception,” Alhaji Majekodunmi cautioned. “Any team can beat anyone on their day, and we’ve seen countless examples of underdogs pulling off stunning upsets.”

He emphasized the importance of teams being prepared for any eventuality. “Complacency can be a team’s worst enemy in this competition. Every match is a cup final, and teams must approach each game with the same level of intensity and focus.”

Alhaji Majekodunmi also encouraged teams to embrace the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship. “The FA Cup is not just about winning, but also about the values of respect, discipline, and fair play. Let’s make this year’s edition a memorable one, not just for the winners, but for the entire football community.”
