African Football legend El Hadji Diouf set for a four-day visit in Uganda

The Senegalese legend will finally come to the the Pearl of Africa after initial arrangements made in the past to have him in Uganda.

El Hadji Diouf, 44, is scheduled to arrive in Kampala this Saturday, March 8, 2025, on invitation of his friend and multi-award winning musician, Edriisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo.

A two-time CAF Player of the year (2001, 2002), Diouf is fondly remembered for his exploits with the Teranga lions of Senegal’s golden generation of the 2000’s which reached the final of the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations and also quarters of the FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan.

Abroad, he featured for various clubs namely Sochaux, Rennes, Lens, Bolton Wanderers, Doncaster Roves, Leeds United and English giants, Liverpool FC.

A four-day tour, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) will oversee the organization and management of his itinerary in the country.

The former Rennes, Sunderland, and Liverpool forward is expected to tour the Big Talent Soccer Academy, an entity founded by Eddy Kenzo.

Further details about the visit of of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Ambassador will be disclosed to the masses upon touchdown in the capital.
