Ablaze Football Club director, Osho Samuel, has outlined the club’s ambitious targets for the Nigeria third tier league, NLO.
Speaking about the team’s objectives, Samuel said: “This is our 3rd season and we have been trying to get our footing but have never finished bottom of the table considering the amount of youngsters we field.”
The focus for Ablaze FC is on development, with an emphasis on giving young players a platform to showcase their talents.
Samuel added: “The focus for us is development and putting kids out there as early as possible at a competitive level.”
This season, the club has promoted eight players from their U14 and U16 teams to the senior squad, demonstrating their commitment to youth development.
Samuel acknowledged the risks involved in fielding young players but emphasized the club’s pride in providing opportunities for them to explore their potential.
“We have talents if brought together can pull through to the NNL and are just below 17 playing in other clubs for the NLO. However, our pride is we are the one who gave that platform for them to explore, something few or no one could give,” Samuel said.
With a determined approach, Ablaze FC is set to make a statement in the NLO this season.
Samuel concluded: “This season we are on it again and this time we will make a statement.
The games might be congested but then we will manage every single game as much as we can, we believe in the boys and we understand that our approach this season will be different.”
