Segun Odegbami has saluted Victor Osimhen after the Galatasaray forward equaled his goals tally for the Super Eagles.

Osimhen equaled Odegbami’s goals tally (23) after netting in the Super Eagles 1-1 draw with the Cheetahs of Benin Republic on Thursday night.

The duo are now joint-second all-time leading scorer for the three-time African champions.

“It’s a good thing (that he has equaled my record),” Odegbami said on Eagle7fm.

“This shows we now have players who can deliver the goals for the national team.”

Osimhen will look to move ahead of Odegbami when the Super Eagles host the Amavubi of Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Monday.

The legendary Rashidi Yekini remains Nigeria’s most prolific international striker as he scored 37 goals in 58 matches.
