The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), has applauded Rivers Angels Football Club for their historic 10th President Federation Cup title, calling the achievement “absolutely unprecedented.”
The Port Harcourt-based side defeated Nasarawa Amazons 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, on Saturday to retain their crown.

Represented at the final by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, the Administrator praised the team’s dedication and reiterated the state government’s pride in the players’ accomplishments.
“This is absolutely unprecedented. There’s nothing like it,” Prof. Worika said after the match.
“We are proud as Rivers men and women that our girls can put up such a feat. His Excellency sent me here to encourage the girls at this final, and I think it’s a wonderful thing. It’s a great feeling.”
Prof. Worika further conveyed Governor Ibas’ promise of ₦50 million to the team as a reward for their victory.
He added that the administration remains committed to supporting sports development and recognizing excellence in athletics across the state.
